We decided to choose a song which didn't already have a popular music video so that we could put our own twist on the song without being compared to a high budget video. There were many artists that we thought of to create a music video for but we all decided on Bombay Bicycle Club's song "Jewel" in the end. We chose a copyright song which mean we had to ask permission from the record company to use the record. We have tried to contact Island Records but not yet had a response, we have left messages and will continue trying.
Before we begin to design our product we need to research into target audiences, other videos of the same genre and the genre itself. We have found two videos that are in the same indie rock genre by Friendly Fires and Two Door Cinema Club.
