We chose to merge an old map of Lancashire with an illustration of the artist. We considered this because it was relevant to the artist's recognition and where the artist is from.
We altered the Opacity level to 28%, this means the map that is placed on top of the illustration is at 28% of it's visibility. This technique allows two images to blend.
We used the eraser tool on the top layer (the map) this allowed us to bring out the the illustration of the artist and still have a faint background.
As an advertisement tells the audience the information of the release we kept the font that we have used throughout the production of the music video and digipack. This creates a reoccurring theme that audiences will recognize as it is part of the artists brand identity.

We experimented with a Drop Shadow tool on the text to see what it would look like and how it would contrast again the imagery. It did stand out and contrast against the flat background, however we didn't see the relevance of this technique as we had never used it in any text on the music video or on the album cover.
